A Story about God’s Love for Me

Can I share a story with you before I give the bible verses about love?

(if not)Go to Bible Verses About Love

Why Lord, why? I cried with tears soaking my pillow. Lord why, what happened? Why is my life one failure after another? When will I see good? When will it be my turn to have good come my way? I’m tired, very tired Lord. These were the words that I cried almost daily.

The Lord waited until no words were left, I felt His comforting arms hold me tight. I felt Him say “My beloved, oh My precious beloved, I would never cause you pain, I would never allow anything to harm you. You My precious child, I love so dearly. I am here; I am right by your side.

I will not leave you, I will not relax my hold on you ever. Those losses, My love were not my doing, your hurt was not My doing.

My precious child, I want to assure you I know the plans I have for you, they are not for evil or to harm you or bring destruction to you or make you sad, lonely or hurting, My loved one, I have a beautiful life – full of hope and joy, your sadness will become dancing, your tears will be tears of joy – and I know you will laugh again!

My child as I have said, I am your Husband, your Father, your Redeemer. There is nothing in your life that will destroy you.

I have you in the palm of My hand and I love you dearly. Hear me beloved, I love you dearly. You are My treasure, My joy, My precious creation. How could you ever think I would want anything less for you? My little one, I want you to trust Me that there is so much, so very much that I have for you. Allow that hope to rise up in you again.”

I knew He was with me but I wanted to see a successful life – not one that resembled Job in the Bible with great losses – one after another. Laying on my bed with my face buried in my pillow I rehearsed all the losses; it was like seeing my life pass before me.

I saw a movie theater in my mind: I saw a train carrying all my pain: each loss, each sadness, each with never ending hopelessness. As I looked closely at each railroad car, I saw on each car a billboard-like advertisement of one of my losses. At the top of the advertisement was the specific title of the loss or hurt, below that was the date, and below that was a video clip of the incident, and below that a story of that particular loss.

Each railroad car had my entire life story of my life losses – each train car, another loss, and another and another. I stood starring down the train tracks, there was no caboose was in sight.

I cried again to God, “How much loss Lord, when will this end?” I said even more defeated and hopeless.

He said to me, “I have been by your side every second, your moments of fear, your tears of sadness, the terror that raced through your body, the deep pain that only you knew about, and your sighs of hopelessness. My child, the violent attacks against your weary body will be forever etched in my mind.

My love, I’ve captured every tear, I held your fingers steady as you dialed 911, I wrapped your broken bones with the gauze of My love. Never has a moment escaped my sight, never has a tear not been caught. I have been by your side, and I always will be.

When you cry, I cry; when you’re hurting, I am hurting, when you ache, I do too. You have never been alone, I have always been with you.”

No one understood my losses.

They had no idea the pain I felt, the suffering I endured, the sadness and loneliness I experienced. All I knew was I had to suffer alone.

But this was not God’s idea, this was mine. The more I thought about my pain, I became more self-centered, self-defeated, helpless and hopeless.

So many times our friends have no idea what to do with our pain, they are suffering in their own pain and they want to solve yours with some quick solvent words that may even hurt us more deeply. We want them so desperately to just hold us, comfort us in our dark times, to remain wordless, and cry with us.

But for the most part they do not know what to do with us – so they quickly try to solve our pain with a spiritual antibacterial cream and a Band-Aid rather than hearing us out.

It’s not their fault, they really don’t mean it, forgive them and allow God to be God over your situation. He is the only one who can bring true comfort in our hard times. Yes the Lord uses so many people to carry us through rough times of our life but there are times that He wants you to choose Him to be with you through that rough season.

He is reaching out to you saying, “My beloved I stand at the door to your heart, I am here knocking for you to let Me in and allow Me to comfort you, allow Me to bring you peace through this, and allow Me to hold you.”

God won’t break down walls or doors to invite Himself in, He waits for you to do it. He stands at the door and knocks, will you let Him in? Can He comfort you?

One of the most beautiful moments in life is when you say, “Lord, I am so desperate for you to help me. I don’t even know what that means or looks like. But I know I can’t go on anymore without you guiding me. Lord I am opening the door to my heart, come in.”

And in that moment, our precious Lord enters in with His arms wide open and hugs you so deeply – in that moment you know everything will be okay. Yes, everything will be okay!

In my sadness and loneliness I asked the Lord if He were to derail my train of misery what would that look like? He told me that He could remove that train and replace it with a glorious Rose Parade, each float so magnificently designed displaying the beauty He has given me and what is mine for the future.

There I sat, front row seats with Jesus holding my hands. We watched each float parading by displaying different years of my life, the joy that I had, the happiness that I felt, the laughter I felt. Each float far exceeded the last float in beauty, my heart jumped for joy with all the good I had.

Jesus said to me, “My beloved this parade is not to make you feel condemned about your past, but to show you the good life that I planned for you, and the good that you did have in the past. Your sadness and grief are real, your losses and hurt are real, the devastation and helplessness has been very real, but even though you have suffered greatly I can redeem that. I can take your pain and abuse, and use it for good.

Little one, in each of those losses and failures, in each of those areas of sadness, each of those devastating times can be turned into something good. In your dark times, I can show you how can be your comforter, your hope, and the lifter of your soul.

Although I didn’t cause the pain and losses in your life, I can use it to help us grow an intimate relationship together.”

Regardless of the life we have had, God has a good plan, a beautiful parade in your honor with all the great things He has planned for you. Can you close your eyes and invite the Holy Spirit to show you through pictures in your mind the picturesque parade He fashioned in your honor?

I would love to hear about your parade, would you share it with me?

Bible Verses about Love:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He have His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT)

Isaiah 62:4b (NLT) For the Lord delights in you and will claim you as His own.

Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT) Long ago the Lord has said, “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself… You again will be happy and dance merrily with tambourines.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (ERV) We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father will comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. God loved us and gave us through grace a wonderful hope and comfort that has no end.

More Bible Verses about Love:

Zephaniah 3:17 (ERV)The Lord your God is with you and how happy He is with you. He will laugh and be happy about you, like people at a party.

Hosea 14:4b I will show them My love without limits.

Proverbs 15:9 He loves those who try to do good.

Ephesian 2:4-7 But God so rich in His mercy, and He loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our own sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s special favor that you have been saved!) For He raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with Him in the heavenly realms—all because we are one with Christ Jesus. And so God can always point to us as examples of the incredible wealth of His favor and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us through Christ Jesus. NLT

Ephesians 2:8 God saved you by His special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us so long ago. NLT

1 John 4:9-10 God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. NLT

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t and the demons can’t. Our fears for today; our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of heal can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is reveals in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 NLT

None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I am absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. Romans 8:38-39 Message

John 16:27 The Father Himself loves you dearly because you love Me(Jesus) and believe that I came from God.

John 17:23 ERV I will be in them, and You will be in Me. So they will be completely one. Then the world will know that You sent Me and that You loved them just as You loved Me.

Romans 5:5 We know this because God has poured out His love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit He gave us.

Romans 8:35-38 Can anything separate us from Christ’s love? Can trouble or problems or persecution separate us from His love? If we have no food or clothing or face danger or even death, will that separate us from His love? As the scriptures says, “for we are in danger of death all the time. People think we are worth no more that sheep to be killed.” But in all these troubles we have complete victory through God, who has shown his love for us. Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not death, life, angels, or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us or nothing below us—nothing in the whole created world—will ever be able to separate us in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ERV)
